The Italian train network will get you close to the Amalfi Coast by Rail but not quite all the way.
For example, you can take a train from Naples to Sorrento on the Circumvesuviana line, a journey of an hour and 15 minutes, but once you arrive in Sorrento you'll need to continue by bus if you want to use public transport. From Sorrento the nearest major town on the Amalfi Coast is Positano and that's a bus trip with a journey time of an hour and 15 minutes. |
There's just one town on the Amalfi Coast that has its own train station and that's Vietri sul Mare which lies at the eastern extremity of the region just along the coast from the city of Salerno.
