Piazza Tasso
Latest update: 2 February 2024
Piazza Tasso is the real beating heart of Sorrento, a busy intersection of streets where you'll find bars, hotels, restaurants, meeting points for excursions and generally lots of people moving in different directions!
The square is named after the poet Torquato Tasso (1544 - 1595), a poet and one of Sorrento's favourite sons. A statue to the poet stands proud in the north-eastern corner of the square. At the opposite end of the piazza is another statue, of Sant'Antonio Abate. |
Among the places where you can enjoy watching the general hubbub is the famous Bar Fauno and next door to that there's the colourful souvenir shop, Fattoria Terranova.
