The Campania Express train timetables for 2025 are displayed further down the page. This is a train that runs between Naples and Sorrento on the Circumvesuviana line but without stopping at every one of the 35 stops along the way.
The train costs more than double that of the regular train (€15 instead of around €5 for a single) but is more convenient as it stops much less frequently. It's also generally easier to find a seat on the Campania Express than it is on the regular Circumvesuviana trains. One drawback with the Campania Express is that at the time of writing it only has four daily departure times in each direction. |

Originating at Napoli Porta Nolana, the Campania Express stops first at Napoli Piazza Garibaldi followed by further stops at Herculaneum (this is the stop for the archaeological site and also for excursions to Mount Vesuvius), Torre Anunziata (the stop for Villa Oplontis), Pompeii (again the archaeological site), Castellammare di Stabia, Vico Equense and finally Sorrento.
There are further services between Sorrento and Pompeii which miss out the remaining stops to Naples. Please see the timetables below for details of each service.
In 2023 the Campania Express became a hop on/hop off service. This means you can for example, get on the train at Naples, get off at Pompeii to visit the archaeological site and then continue with the same ticket to Sorrento, if that's your destination. Or you could travel from Sorrento to Pompeii, visit there, the board a later train to visit Herculaneum on the same day using the same ticket.
Tickets can be bought from each of the relevant train stations' ticket offices or online here from EAV in English and Italian.
