Sorrento Boat Rental
Latest update: 7 March 2023
During the summer months when the southern Italian sunshine is beating down and the beaches are busier than usual, one of the best ways to find some space is by taking a boat out on the water.
Our Sorrento boat rental allows you to explore the beautiful coastline either by yourselves or with the help of a skipper to do the driving for you. The boats come with canopies so you have plenty of shade and there are some great spots for swimming. The boat rentals start in Marina Grande and from there you can explore up and down the coastline or have lunch by the water. |

The boats that you can drive without the need of a special boat licence or a skipper are equipped with a 40 horse power engine. We have either rubber dinghies, sometimes called ribs but referred to in Italian as gommoni, or the hard shell sports boats which the Italians call motoscafi.
For those with little experience in driving a boat we suggest restricting yourselves to the coastline between Meta and Marina Grande in Sorrento, while for those with a little more confidence there's the wonderful Sorrento Peninsula to enjoy. You can take the boats as far as the pretty bay of Nerano which is home to the famous restaurant Lo Scoglio, but something of a gastronomic mini-paradise with a series of great places to eat.
The price of a rental starts from €335 for the day without a skipper with the fuel charged at the end of the day. The fuel spent very much depends on the distance and the speed at which you travel. On average it comes to around €50 if you just gently cruise around the areas between Sorrento and Nerano.
To make a booking we take a deposit of €25 which can be paid securely online via Visa, Mastercard or American Express. Once you've reserved the boat with the deposit, we send you instructions on who to meet the evening before the rental in order that you can fill out the necessary forms and present your ID etc.
On the day of the rental you'll be given instructions on how to use the boat, a map of the local area and all of the necessary safety rules.
To make a booking, please let us know the preferred date of the rental and the number of people in your group, whether it's just one or as many as 6. For groups of more than 6 people we use a different type of boat that has to be driven by a skipper.
For enquiries please send an email to info@sorrentoreview.com and we'll be happy to help.
