Marinas  of  Sorrento

There are two main Marinas in Sorrento called Marina Piccola (Small Marina) and Marina Grande (Big Marina) which serve slightly different purposes.

​Thinking about them in terms of size can be a bit confusing as Marina Grande is the smaller of the two so before your trip it's a good idea to familiarise yourself with both to understand what you can find in each one.

​Essentially, Marina Grande is a little fishing village with restaurants while Marina Piccola is more of a transport hub for ferries.

Marina Grande is ironically the smaller of the two marinas and is a little community in itself with a series of restaurants, bars, hotels and a church. It's also one of the prettiest areas to walk around.

Marina Piccola
Marina Piccola is the port where the hydrofoils and ferries come and go to nearby locations such as Ischia, Capri and Naples. It also has a large marina for smaller private and commercial craft.
