The beach resorts of Campania stand apart from the larger seaside towns which are official municipalities. Usually a bit smaller than the comune they belong to, the beach resorts are nevertheless places where you can find a good selection of accommodation along with other facilities such as restaurants and shops.
An area with a particularly high density of beach resorts in Campania is the Cilento Coast which lies in the southern part of the region in the Salerno Province. Most famous among those are the likes of Palinuro, Marina di Camerota and Scario, while the area around Naples can boast the historic resort of Miseno. |
