The museums of Sorrento provide an opportunity to delve into the history of the town and to explore its cultural heritage.
With its 24 intriguing rooms, the Correale di Terranova Museum is filled with exhibits collected by Count Alfredo Correale and his family. The beautiful villa dates back to the 18th Century and houses a wide range of objects from furniture to pieces of art. The Museum Borrega della Tarsia Lignea is an homage to the art of inlaid wood. The artistic style of these beautiful wood creations which are highly polished can be seen in dozens of souvenir shops around Sorrento but the very best examples are in the museum. |
