Grotta  di  Matermania

The Grotta di Matermania, (also known as the Grotta di Matermonia) is a cave located along Capri's south-eastern coastline. During Roman times the cave was used as a Nympheum and as a result a once important site for archaeological finds.

The cave can be reached by walking along the beautiful Pizzolungo walking route from the Belvedere di Tragara or alternatively by walking down the steps from the Arco Naturale. If using the latter route please be aware that the steps are very steep in places, numerous and not suitable for anyone with walking difficulties.
