Belvedere Cannone
Latest update: 1 February 2024
Offering one of the best all round panoramas in Capri, Belvedere Cannone is worth the extra effort to get to compared to some of the more famous viewpoints on the island.
From this lofty perch you can gaze down on to the cream of Capri's sights including the Faraglioni, Augustus Gardens and the Certosa di San Giacomo. But that's just looking in one direction! Turn to your right and you have the enchanting Marina Piccola with its beach clubs and bright-blue-patterned azure water which dazzles even more so from this height. As alluded to it can be a bit tricky to get here but I recommend persevering with it. |

Your mini-Odyssey starts from the Piazzetta in Capri Town; from there you need to walk towards the bus station, then slightly past the bus station you'll see some steps leading up. From those steps you enter a warren of tunnels where among other businesses Ristorante La Cisterna is located. As you enter the tunnel you'll see Belvedere Cannone signposted and from this point it's a lovely 15 minute walk passing whitewashed houses and getting away from the hustle and bustle of the town centre. You'll get some great views along the way and then those fabulous panoramas once you reach the viewpoint itself.
