Piano di Sorrento is a small town situated on the Sorrento Peninsula between the towns of Meta and Sant'Agnello.
As with its near neighbours, Piano di Sorrento shares the characteristic of having a town centre and a clifftop coastal area. The neat and tidy town centre is where many Sorrento locals do their clothes shopping as the prices here are much cheaper than in the centre of Sorrento. You'll also find an unassuming array of bars and restaurants. |
It's Piano di Sorrento's coastal area that grabs most attention though. Here you'll find the Villa Fondi complex with its beautiful gardens and museum. It's from Villa Fondi that you get spectacular views down to the town's busy marina and out across the Gulf of Naples. Next to the marina there's also a beach which is great for snorkelling with its clear water, rocks and caves to explore.
