If you're considering a two day itinerary of Capri then it's a good bet that you'll be staying overnight at one of the island's hotels or private apartments.
The itinerary below allows you to make the most of the time you have on the island and is based on your starting point being Marina Grande. |

Day One
Visit the Ticket Office
Start your day by purchasing five tickets for the bus and Funicular Railway. These tickets can be used for both modes of transport, giving you flexibility throughout the day.

Funicular Railway to Capri Town
Take the Funicular Railway from Marina Grande up to Capri Town. Enjoy the beautiful ride with scenic views as you ascend to the top.

Explore Piazzetta and Belvedere di Tragara
Walk through the famous Piazzetta, the heart of Capri, before heading towards the Belvedere di Tragara. Enjoy breathtaking views of the Faraglioni rocks and the coastline.

Pizzolungo Walk
From the Belvedere, make your way to the left corner to start the Pizzolungo walk. This path is mostly flat at first but becomes steeper as you approach the steps. If you're feeling up for it, continue up the many steps; if not, simply turn back and retrace your steps.

Lunch at Trattoria Le Grotelle
If you’ve continued up the steps, treat yourself to a well-earned rest and a delicious meal at Trattoria Le Grotelle, enjoying the stunning views.

Via Matermania and Via Tiberio
After lunch, follow Via Matermania until you reach the crossroads with Via Tiberio. Walk along Via Tiberio, passing the signs for Villa Jovis and continuing towards Villa Lysis (also known as Villa Fersen).

From Villa Lysis, take the steep path up through the trees to reach Villa Jovis.

Return to Capri Town
After visiting Villa Jovis, walk back down the way you came, heading back towards the Piazzetta.

Optional: Augustus Gardens
If you have the energy, stop by the Augustus Gardens to admire the views of the Faraglioni and Marina Piccola.

Relax for the Evening
By now, your feet will be sore! Either head for dinner in Capri Town or take the Funicular Railway back down to Marina Grande to rest up for the night. If the Funicular is too busy, you could take the stairs, but given the day’s activities, we understand if you skip that!

Day Two
Bus to Anacapri
Start your day early by using one of your Funicular/Bus tickets purchased on Day One. Take the 09:10 bus from Capri Town to Anacapri.

Villa San Michele
Upon arriving at Piazza Vittoria in Anacapri, visit the beautiful Villa San Michele. Enjoy its peaceful gardens and panoramic views of the island and surrounding coast.

Chairlift to Mount Solaro
From Villa San Michele, take the Chairlift up Mount Solaro, the highest point on Capri. The ride offers incredible views, and once at the top, enjoy the scenery.

After taking in the views at Mount Solaro, take the chairlift back down to Piazza Vittoria and relax with a coffee or snack in the square.

Take a bus from Piazza Vittoria to the famous Blue Grotto. Once there, walk down the steps to the water and wait for a rowboat to take you inside the cave, where you'll witness the magical blue light.

After the Blue Grotto, take the bus back up to Anacapri and visit the Chiesa di San Michele Arcangelo, known for its stunning majolica-tiled floor depicting the Garden of Eden.

Return to Marina Grande
Once you’ve finished exploring Anacapri, take the bus back to Marina Grande in time for your ferry or, if you prefer, head back to your hotel to relax and plan your evening meal.
