Casa Rossa Anacapri
Latest page update: 10 January 2025
The Casa Rossa in Anacapri is one of the most striking buildings on the island. Its bright, "Pompeian Red" walls catch the eye as you approach from the outside while the interior of the building has its own intrigue.
Constructed towards the end of the 19th century by an American colonel by the name of J C Mackowen, the Casa Rossa is a museum housing an array of exhibits from artworks such as paintings and sculptures to archaeological artefacts. The newest part of the building was added to the original medieval watchtower which was constructed around the 14th century. |
To reach Casa Rossa head first to Anacapri. From Piazza Vittoria cross the road and follow the main path towards the town centre.
