Sorrento by Train
Latest update: 8 January 2024
With Sorrento's railway station located just a short distance from the town centre and close to dozens of hotels, it's no surprise that rail is one of the most popular methods of reaching Sorrento by Train.
There are different types of train that run back and forth between Sorrento and Naples city centre using the Circumvesuviana (roughly means "around Vesuvius") train line. The regular train from Naples takes an hour and six minutes while there are also occasional trains that take fewer stops and have a journey time of around 50 minutes. |

The fastest and most expensive option is the Campania Express which runs from March to November and despite using the same Circumvesuviana train line, its journey time from Naples to Sorrento is just under 50 minutes, stopping only at the most popular stations along the way including Pompeii and Herculaneum.
