Sorrento Beach Clubs
Latest update: 2 February 2024
Where some towns are famous for their long, sandy beaches, Sorrento is slightly different; yes there are some beaches such as the one in Marina Grande which is enjoyed by the locals but a little lacking in space, especially during the summer months when it's most in demand.
The waters around Sorrento are beautifully clear and shallow though and absolutely not to be missed. Therefore, there are a number of what we've called Sorrento Beach Clubs, which could otherwise be described as beach establishments (stabilimenti balneari in Italian). |

Typically, the beach clubs are an area of wooden decking furnished with sun-loungers and parasols, with easy access to the water at various points. Most of them also have their own restaurant and snack bar.
The largest concentration of these beach establishments in Sorrento can be found in Marina Piccola, sandwiched between the Ferry and Hydrofoil Port to the east and Marina Grande to the west around the headland. There are further Beach Clubs to be found in both directions along the coast, notably including the famous Bagni di Regina Giovanna which sits on a little spur of land, west of Sorrento.
For each Beach Club in Marina Piccola you'll find photos, prices and directions from Villa Comunale Park which is close to the centre of Sorrento. This is where you get some of the best views in Sorrento and it's also a good reference point for the beaches of Marina Piccola as from here, you can see all of the different beaches just by looking down over the wall which may help you to decide which one to choose.
The park is also the easiest place to reach the Marina Piccola beaches from - you can either walk down the path that leads from the park to the marina or alternatively, take the Sorrento Lift which is conveniently situated at the left of the park. The lift costs €1 per person but saves a lot of valuable time and energy!
