Due to ticketing issues at the Mount Vesuvius National Park we have had to suspend this tour. If you'd like a private taxi tour from Sorrento to Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius please give us as much notice as possible so that we can find a driver and tickets available.

Customer Cancellation Policy
For cancellations made by the customer more than 24 hours in advance of the rental date we will provide a full refund. If we receive a notification of a cancellation less than 24 hours before the rental date no refund will be given.

Bad Weather Cancellation Policy
In the event of a tour being cancelled due to bad weather or rough sea, we will first try to rebook with you for another day that you’re available and we have spaces available. In cases where no alternative dates are available for the client and ourselves, we will provide a full refund. Please note, the decision on whether conditions are suitable to take the boat out rests solely with the skipper.

Answers to Frequently Asked Questions
- The trail to reach the top of Mount Vesuvius has a moderate-high difficulty. It is steep and uneven in places. There are no benches to sit on nor any shade once you commence the walk up the mountain. However, the majority of our guests, including the elderly, do manage to reach the crater at the top.
- If any member of the group doesn't want to walk up the mountain or suffers from a medical condition, there is a café before the entrance to the trail where they can have a drink and wait for the rest of the group to come down.
- Once the minibus arrives at the entrance of the National Park of Vesuvius, the hiking section takes around 90 minutes in total. Of those 90 minutes, around 30-45 minutes is spent walking up the mountain with the rest taken up by the descent and the time spent at the top enjoying the views which include the main crater “Gran Cono” and the Bay of Naples.
- The order of the activities is usually as follows: Pompeii - restaurant with lunch - Vesuvius. That order can change according to prevailing circumstances on the day. The lunch is always the middle section of the day, but sometimes we start at Vesuvius and end at Pompeii.
- The wine tasting and the lunch together usually last 2 hours.

Enjoyed a fabulous trip to Vesuvius and Pompei today . We were collected from our Hotel in Sorrento where we were taken to travel by Gozo boat to then transfer by minibus to start the climb of Vesuvius. Fabulous views . Next a well deserved and delicious lunch with wine tasting before we visited Pompei with a truly awesome guide whose passion and knowledge of the site was outstanding. Top tips , take plenty of water and sunscreen. Wear strong footwear - someone on our trip bitterly regretted wearing pink fluff slippers !

We very much enjoyed our day and would highly recommend this experience for others. The boat ride to and from Napoli was a lot of fun (unexpected fun to be honest ). Our driver was simply the best and our guides for the day and Pompeii were wonderful. I think it's one of the best tours we've ever taken.
The wine tour, tasting and lunch; great job booking that for the group. We all had a chance to talk which made the day more fun. Finally, we enjoyed our guide (sorry, I forget her name) joining us on the front of the boat on the way back. She offered us a few drinks as well.
