Capri  Museums  and  Villas

Depending on how much time you have to visit the island, the Capri museums and villas provide an opportunity to understand the local culture and history. 

The Villa San Michele and Axel Munthe Museum is one of the principal attractions on the island, situated in Anacapri. The Villa was the home of Swedish physician Axel Munthe whose book about his time on the island became an international best-seller with some fascinating insight into the island's past. 

Belonging to a much older period of time is Villa Jovis on the opposite side of the island; the palace of Roman Emperor Tiberius.
