There are a number of islands close to Naples ranging from world-famous luxury resorts to the quiet and unassuming or simply tiny.
Of the four main islands in the Gulf of Naples Ischia is the biggest and is one of the most popular holiday destinations in Italy, particularly so with Italians. Nearby Capri has traditionally welcomed a slightly different profile of tourist with a particular emphasis on the English-speaking world. The third major inhabited island close to Naples is sleepy Procida with its beautiful Marina Corricella while the smallest of all is tiny Nisida which was once an Ancient Roman playground. |
