At one time a cathedral, the Chiesa di Santo Stefano sits at the edge of the Piazzetta in Capri Town.
The church was built in the seventeenth century and among its most interesting features is the clock tower which was part of the original complex when the edifice was classed as a cathedral. To reach the church, take the funicular railway from Marina Grande up to Capri Town, head for the Piazzetta and climb the short steps to the right of the square. Another church of great interest on the island is the Chiesa di San Michele Arcangelo in Anacapri, famed for its ceramic floor. |
