Five Star Hotels in Sorrento
Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittoria
Opened in 1834, the 5-star Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittoria is one of the grandest of the grand hotels in Sorrento. Situated in the centre of Sorrento with its own Michelin starred restaurant, frescoed ceilings and period furniture, the hotel exudes opulence and grandeur. The pool area and spa are surrounded by 20,000 square metres of impressive citrus gardens where guests can relax and enjoy drinks and snacks from the poolside bar. |

The sumptuous and elegant 5-star Hotel Bellevue Syrene was originally a Roman Villa and converted to a hotel in 1820. Almost every room has a sea view balcony offering majestic views of the Bay of Naples and combines classical architecture with a modern design. The hotel has a small outdoor swimming pool with sun loungers and an elevator takes you down to the private sunbathing platform on the sea. |
It also has two restaurants, one indoor, and the other is on a magnificent outdoor terrace with the classic Sorrento sea views. A lounge bar offers live piano music at night and the club lounge has free drinks and snacks through the day until 20:00.
Grand Hotel Royal
Originally built in 1898, the 5-star Grand Hotel Royal is very nicely located in central Sorrento on the cliff directly overlooking the sea. Luxurious furnishings, antiques, paintings and crystal chandeliers adorn the two indoor restaurants, lounges and foyer. There is also an outdoor restaurant, an indoor bar and outdoor bar. Marble staircases are another nice feature and most of the rooms have inlaid furniture, a nice balcony and marble bathrooms. The rooms have an electric kettle with free tea and coffee plus two bottles of water daily. |
A good sized swimming pool with a Jacuzzi and a pool-bar overlooks the sea and gardens. The large and impressive gardens have palm and citrus trees with tables and comfortable chairs where guests can relax. A fabulous terrace stretches all the way along the edge of the sea with views of the Marina Piccola and Vesuvius. A lift takes you down to a large bathing platform with sunbeds, a snack bar and easy access to the sea. Slightly higher is another terrace with more tables and chairs, more sunbeds and more gardens.

It’s furnished with comfortable sofas and chairs, inlaid furniture, marble staircases, antiques and paintings. Originally a villa and converted in 1812 to the Imperial Hotel Tramontano, the oldest parts of this distinguished hotel date back to the 16th century. This hotel is in a very good central location close to the shops and restaurants of Sorrento with Piazza Tasso about a 5 minute walk. Hotel Michelangelo
Set in the centre of Sorrento on the main shopping street, Corso Italia, the Hotel Michelangelo is just 200 metres from the bus/train station and a 6 minute walk to the town's vibrant main square: Piazza Tasso. It’s close to the action with lots of shops, cafes and restaurants nearby although the hotel is an oasis of calm. It has a restaurant on site featuring two dining rooms, a spacious indoor lounge, bar and snack bar.
