The landmarks of Naples are a mixture of natural and main-made sights that have helped to shape the city over the years.
Most distinctive of all Naples' landmarks is the one that can be seen from almost any place in the city. Mount Vesuvius is the large crater that watches over the city and around which a large number of settlements exist on its slopes. Back in the city centre, the Galleria Umberto I is a great source of pride and Naples' version of the more famous Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan. A much smaller landmark is the popular Gran Caffè Gambrinus; one of the best place to get a coffee in the city. |
