Sorrento  Group  Tours

Latest update: 16 January 2023

The Sorrento group tours allow you to enjoy the outstanding natural beauty of the local area, soak up its history and make some new friends along the way.

Group sizes are kept to a minimum to ensure you always have plenty of space on our boats and travel in comfort.

The tours allow you to visit places like Capri, the Amalfi Coast and the Sorrento Peninsula from the water, providing a completely different perspective on the coastline's natural beauty that can't always be perceived from the land. We can also use the boats to help you visit historic Pompeii and the imposing Mount Vesuvius.

The Capri and Sorrento Coast Group Tour is our most popular of all the excursions on this page. We collect you from your hotel in the morning and take you across to Capri, passing the sights of the beautiful Sorrento coast along the way. We restrict the numbers to a maximum of 14 on this tour and use one of the characteristic Gozzo boats that can be found across the region.

Prices start at €79 per person and gradually increase the closer we get to the peak of summer. For full details of the prices and how the tour works, please click on the green link above.

Capri Blue Grotto and Sorrento Coast Boat Tour
The Capri Blue Grotto and Sorrento Coast Boat Tour works on a similar basis to the first tour on this page, but with some subtle differences. The first part of the excursion cruises along the Sorrento Coast, passing Marina Grande and Bagni di Regina Giovanna, before the short crossing to Capri.

Unlike the tour above, this one stops at the famous Blue Grotto in Capri and the maximum number of passengers is restricted to 8 whereas the first tour can have up to 14 people on board. As a result of the visit to the Blue Grotto, this tour starts slightly earlier in the morning, in order to minimise the queueing outside the Grotto.

Capri and the Sorrento Coast by Night Boat Tour
The Capri and the Sorrento Coast by Night Boat Tour starts at 4pm and is followed by a magical seven hours visiting the Sorrento Coast and the island of Capri. During those seven hours you'll have the opportunity to relax on the boat while enjoying the beautiful scenery, explore Capri on foot, swim in some of the island's secluded bays if you wish to, and to witness everything from two different perspectives.

During the day time, the Sorrento and Capri coastlines are characterised by their fascinating rock formations and crystalline waters. At night time, the sunset precedes those beautiful warm evenings where the lights in the distance mixed with the sound of the water gently lapping against the boat create a romantic experience that you'll never forget.

Amalfi and Sorrento Coast Boat Tour
The Amalfi and Sorrento Coast Boat Tour links two of Italy's most famous areas of coastline. The Amalfi Coast is officially recognised by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site and lies just beyond the Sorrento Peninsula. The two signature towns of Amalfi and Positano which can be something of a challenge to reach by public transport, turn into a relaxing day out where you have time to explore both on foot.

Starting from the nearby port of Piano di Sorrento with hotel transfers included in the price, the excursion makes its way past Sorrento's Marina Grande before cruising along the sights of Peninsula such as the island group of Li Galli. Everything beyond those three islands is the Amalfi Coast with its dramatic cliffs tumbling down into bright blue water and punctuated by the pretty ports of Positano and Amalfi.

Eco Friendly Amalfi Coast Boat Tour
The Eco Friendly Amalfi Coast Boat Tour provides access to the spectacular Bay of Jeranto which is otherwise quite tricky to visit. The Bay is a marine area that's given special protection due to its environmental heritage and closed to typical motor boats. However, with our eco-friendly hybrid engine boat, you're able to enter the Bay in silence and enjoy its treasures. Those that want to swim in the bay can, while others will just want to admire its beauty and get some wonderful photos.

Aside from the Bay of Jeranto, this tour also takes in the pretty coastline of the Sorrento Peninsula as well as that of the Amalfi Coast. We stop in both Positano and Amalfi where you have time to explore the towns on foot or spend time in a cafe watching the world go by.

Ischia and Procida Boat Tour
The Ischia and Procida Boat Tour takes in two of Italy's favourite islands in the same day. Slightly further afield from Sorrento than the island of Capri, both Ischia and Procida have been charming visitors for years. Ischia is a well-established holiday destination for Italians who come to sunbathe on its sandy beaches, spend time at its thermal spas or explore its historic sights such as Castello Aragonese.

Setting out from Sorrento on Tuesday and Friday mornings, the excursion first heads to Ischia where a circuit of the island is followed by free time for you to explore it on foot. Just a short distance across the water from Ischia lies Procida which is the Italian Capital of Culture for 2022 and creating a buzz internationally. Procida is famous above all for its pretty Marina Corricella but also as the setting of the Oscar-winning film Il Postino (1994) starring local hero Massimo Troisi.

Pompeii, Mount Vesuvius and Vineyard Lunch
The Pompeii, Mount Vesuvius and Vineyard Lunch excursion provides a unique opportunity to take in some of the local areas world-famous sights while sampling its delicious cuisine. A day out at Pompeii is at the top of the list for most visitors to Sorrento; the town's fate was sealed in 79AD when the hitherto quiet Mount Vesuvius suddenly erupted into life and buried it in a cloud of ash. Once those layers of ash were excavated almost two thousand years later, they left a perfectly-preserved Roman town beneath them.

Mount Vesuvius is also a national park with an extraordinary landscape that can be visited with the help of local guides and transportation, such as in this excursion. Whereas most people visit Pompeii by train from Sorrento, on this tour we make it a little more interesting by taking the first part of the journey by sea, lunch at a vineyard on the slopes of the volcano and a hike to the crater at its summit. We'll also supply an expert guide for two and a half hours in Pompeii and transfers to and from your accommodation in Sorrento town centre.
  • Available Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays
  • Transfers to and from your accommodation in Sorrento
  • Two and a half hour visit of Pompeii with tour guide included
  • Mini-bus transfer from Pompeii to Mount Vesuvius
  • Lunch and wine tasting on slopes of Mount Vesuvius
  • Hike to summit crater of Mount Vesuvius with guide
  • Return to Sorrento by boat
Duration: 10 hours

Price 2023: €159 per person (available 16 May to 30 September)

Rome to Amalfi Coast Round Trip with Boat Tour
The Rome to Amalfi Coast Round-trip with Boat Tour is a whistle-stop experience that connects two of Italy's UNESCO World Heritage sites in one day. The distance between Rome and the Amalfi Coast means the only way to make the trip possible in a single day is by taking advantage of the high-speed rail link between the capital and Naples.

We provide a driver to meet you as you step off the train in Naples who will then take you to our boat waiting at the city's marina. This saves time against the road journey and means you can view the stunning coastline while out on deck in the sunshine.

Over the course of the day you get to see the two main towns on the Amalfi Coast: Positano and Amalfi itself, with time for sightseeing, lunch and sunbathing on the boat. We then take you back by boast along the coast to Naples, drive you to the train station and provide you with the tickets for the train back to Rome.
  • High speed train between Rome to Naples
  • Taxi transfers between Naples and Amalfi Coast
  • Cruise along the Sorrento and Amalfi Coasts

Next up is dinner at a restaurant right next to the water where you'll be able to feel the light breeze coming off the sea in the balmy evening atmosphere. The crowning glory of the tour is the firework display in Positano where our boat will be joined by dozens of others creating a magical spectacle that will live long in the memory.
