The dozen or so ferry routes from Salerno underline the importance of the city which is one of the key travel hubs in Southern Italy.
In 2024 Salerno's Airport re-opened for international travel after a long period of closure. Along with its train station that's connected to the Italian high-speed rail network and its busy maritime port, Salerno is also just off the main motorway from which you can travel north to Rome and beyond or south to Calabria and Sicily. During the summer you can sail from Salerno to the Amalfi Coast. |
