Castel  Sant'Elmo

The hilltop fortress of Castel Sant'Elmo is one of the most unmissable sights in Naples.

Not only is it fascinating to walk around the battlements of the castle, but it affords one of the best views of the city centre. The castle is located in the Vomero district and lies next door to the Certosa di San Martino with the Belvedere San Martino outside.
