The beautiful squares of Naples are at the very heart of everyday life in the city and are an important fabric of the whole country.
These welcoming open-spaces are where people come to meet each other, spend the day in conversation, worshipping at an historic church or relaxing with some food and drink. Naples' most famous square is Piazza del Plebiscito which knits together some of the most important sightseeing locations in th city including the Royal Palace, Teatro San Carlo, the Basilica di San Francesco di Paola and the famous Gran Caffè Gambrinus which is one of the oldest coffee houses in Naples. |
